Frequently Asked Diving Questions
The idea of breathing underwater scares me. Do people usually get over that fear?
We have worked with many divers to conquer their fears and overcome setbacks. We understand that scuba diving may seem like a dangerous or intimidating sport. However, once you learn the safety rules and get some practice in, diving will become second nature. We are here to help you put any fears to rest so you can fully enjoy all the wonders Scuba Diving has to offer.
Do I need to worry about sharks?
Scuba diving is one of the few ways that humans can observe sharks in their natural habitats. Sharks rely on a keen sense of sight and smell, as well their mouths – just like our beloved pups! When scuba divers immerse themselves into the ocean, they are perceived by the shark more so as another predator rather than food. Fortunately for us Scuba Divers, this means we are not likely to experience aggression from a curious encounter with these majestic creatures. Often times sharks are scared away from scuba divers because of the sounds of our breathing underwater. But if you’re lucky enough to be graced with a shark’s presence while diving you can take in this amazing encounter with confidence. Remain calm and steady; pause to admire their beauty and agility.
What times of year can you scuba dive in Florida?
Enjoy the beauty of Florida underwater all year round! Even during the winter months – We will fit you with 7mm thick wetsuits, hoods, and gloves protecting you from the potential chill. If that wasn’t enough incentive, cold weather brings greater water clarity and draws aquatic animals closer to shore that you won’t see in the summer.
